Couples & Relationship Therapy
Relationships are hard, conflict is normal, and seeking therapy does not mean your relationship is broken. Just like there’s no singular “right way” to be a human, there is no single “right way” to be in a relationship. Decades of romantic comedy films and fairy tales with people who “lived happily ever after” are, quite literally, fiction.
Relationship/Couples therapy with me is a collaborative process that challenges each partner to grow within the context of the relationship. While I have specialized training in the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, I am flexible in utilizing other approaches as well. I often use the lens of attachment theory to conceptualize relational patterns, and incorporate strategies from The Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as warranted.
